When it comes to custom book covers in Dark Romance, Romantic Thrillers, Romance, New Adult, and Fantasy, you’ve come to the right place.
I welcome requests for almost all book genres, with the exception of Erotica, guides, and non-fiction.

If you would like to commission a custom book cover or choose a pre-made cover, simply send me an inquiry at kontakt@epicmooncoverdesign.comOf course, all initial inquiries are non-binding. After exchanging the initial information and answering any questions you may have, I will send you a personalized quote tailored specifically to your project. You will then have two weeks to accept or decline the offer. Once you have decided to book me as your designer, I will send you a questionnaire to get an overview of the key details of your book and your design preferences. Of course, all information you provide is treated confidentially and will not be shared with third parties. After receiving the completed questionnaire, I will send you the design contract, which outlines the rights and responsibilities of both parties. To prepare the contract, I will need your full name and address. Unfortunately, I cannot accept questionnaires submitted without this information. Once the contract has been signed, you will receive the first invoice for a 50% deposit of the total amount. Please note that this deposit is non-refundable if you decide to terminate the project before completion. As soon as the first payment has been received, I will begin working on your design concepts, provided that all questions have been clarified by that point. As soon as possible after the project begins, you will receive the initial design concepts with a watermark. The watermark will, of course, be removed from the final files. You can request changes up to three times. Please note that my prices include a maximum of three rounds of revisions. To make the process as smooth as possible, please collect all your requested changes and include them in a single email for each revision round. Once you are happy with your cover, I will send you the second invoice for the remaining balance. After the final payment has been received, you will receive your finished cover without a watermark via email, along with a Google Drive link.
We can discuss everything else calmly and at your own pace. I am always happy to take the time needed for your project and am available to answer any questions you may have.

PLEASE NOTE: I run Epic Moon – Cover Design as a side business. Please allow enough time between your inquiry and your publication date, as my schedule can fill up quickly.

Just as every cover is unique, so is the time it takes to complete it. The duration varies from project to project, as every cover comes with its own challenges and creative process. Ideally, I aim to complete a cover project within four weeks.

I charge a flat fee for the initial design concepts. You will receive 2–4 concepts that we can build upon and refine together. However, if an above-average number of additional concepts is required, I may charge for the extra work separately, as this involves additional time and effort. Any additional work beyond the agreed scope is not covered by the flat fee.

All book covers in my portfolio are designed entirely by me, with great attention to detail, a trained eye for design, and without the use of automated AI design tools. Every design is an original creative composition created by me.

I work with traditional visual assets such as photography, vector graphics, and illustrations from the professional Adobe Stock library.

In the past, there were a few projects in which individual design elements were based on AI-generated Adobe Stock images, for example as creative starting points, background material, or to complement certain effects. These elements were always deliberately selected and creatively integrated by me.

Adobe Stock clearly and transparently labels AI-generated content. In addition, such images are subject to strict moderation guidelines designed to protect copyright, personal rights, and legal requirements. These guidelines have also been strengthened to ensure the responsible use of AI-generated content.

Important: Since 2025, I no longer use AI-generated images from Adobe Stock in my cover designs, not even as individual elements. You can be confident that your cover will be created without AI-generated content.

Unless otherwise agreed, 50% of the total fee is due upon placing the order, with the remaining 50% payable before the final files are delivered. Both the deposit and the remaining balance must be paid by bank transfer within seven days, without deduction. If a project extends over a longer period of time or requires significant upfront expenses on my part, reasonable advance payments may be required. Once the final payment has been received in my account, I will send you the final files within four days.
Payment is currently available via bank transfer.

I offer design packages. From now on, I also offer a package based on your budget. What does this mean for you? You tell me your budget, and I will tailor the design to fit within it.
Of course, you can also purchase your covers individually. Pricing is available upon request.

Yes, I also offer sprayed edges, designed to complement your cover upon request. They are a real eye-catcher and can turn your book into something truly special. Just let me know if you’re interested in adding sprayed edges to your book!

Availability

Here you’ll find an overview of my current workload and the time slots that are already booked for the coming months.
For this reason, I recommend getting in touch well in advance and allowing enough time for your project to be completed. Designing a book cover usually takes around six weeks, from the initial inquiry to the delivery of the final files.
Please note that this timeframe applies to cover design only, not typesetting.

Please note: I run my business alongside my main occupation and currently work on my freelance business only two days a week. For this reason, I ideally recommend requesting a project at least six months in advance.

Occasionally, last-minute availability opens up or projects are completed ahead of schedule … so it can still be worth getting in touch spontaneously!
